"Rut Ragnarsdóttir er listakona og gullsmiður. Hún hóf nám sitt við Takniskólann þar sem hún fór í
listnám frá 2009 til 2011.
Frá 2013 til 2020 lauk hún námi sem gullsmiður. Rut hefur mikla ástriu fyir málaralistinni og teikningu.
Rut notar olíumálningu, blýant og kol í list sinni, en verk hennar eru innblásin af islensku landslagi með abstrakt
ívafi en einnig fígúrutíft.
Málverk Rutar einkennast af djúpum og grípandi litum, og endurspeglar ró og frið i náttúru islands.
Árið 2021 víkkaði Rut sjóndeildarhring sinn með því að flytja til Barcelona og læra bæði hefbundna list og
samtímalist við Listaskóla í Barcelona.
Hún er meðlimur í Art Gallery 101, samstarfshópi 14 listamanna.
Frá 2016 til 2020 var hún meðeigandi islensku skartgripaverslunarinnar RAUS Reykjavik.
Eins og er, einbeitir Rut sér aðallega aõ mála og teikna en einnig kenndi hún myndlist við Grunnskóla
Grindavikur 2023-2024.

“Rut Ragnarsdóttir is a versatile artist and skilled goldsmith. She began her artistic journey at Tækniskóli School of General Academic Studies and Design, studying art from 2009 to 2011. From 2013 to 2020, she completed her training as a goldsmith. Rut has a long-standing passion for painting and drawing, a skill she refined while working alongside her mother, who is also a painter. Her primary mediums are oil paint, pencil, and charcoal, with her work deeply inspired by the Icelandic landscape. Rut’s paintings, characterized by their deep, captivating colors and abstract perspective, evoke a sense of tranquility and peace.


In 2021, Rut expanded her artistic horizons by moving to Barcelona to study both traditional and contemporary art at the Barcelona Academy of Art. She is also a member of Art Gallery 101, a collaborative group of 14 women artists. From 2016 to 2020, she co-owned the Icelandic jewelry shop RAUS Reykjavík.

Currently, Rut focuses mainly on her career as a painter and dedicates time to teaching art to children.
